I am also quite new to drawing..
here are just some of my personal opinion/suggestion:
1, try to blurr out the edge of any spiritual begin so that they look more dissolved into the air.. =)
2, reduce the range of white aurora of the spell.

I used/ I´m using Photoshop CS5, I just used the default hard and the default soft brush.
Yeah I am kinda free so I´m trying to make one art piece per day and it was already 3 in the morning and I didn´t wanted to overdo it. And I kinda still have to learn to work with these filters and effects a lot, I pretty much just used the basic stuff^^

And yes Dark Souls \°n°/ PRAISE THE SUN !
I kinda went to a mix of Soilare and Iron Tarkus with the Black Knight Halberd but yeah.
Thanks a lot for your comment, and if I might add, your artwork looks very good in my opinion :)
